Stretchy Tech is a NDIA registered organisation that focuses on increasing the independence, well-being, and confidence of people living with a range of disabilities through the use of customised inclusive technology. They provide workshop and training sessions on how to integrate technology into your everyday life, offering information and advice on the most effective products and how to use them. Training sessions are offered on-site at their Unley location or through house visits by their trained staff if requested. They offer group or individual face-to-face training sessions as well as online resources, with different sessions offering beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels of training.

1. Custom Packages – Paid Training
Stretchy Tech offers a selection of packages targeted at helping people with different disabilities to integrate technology into their daily life, to improve their communication and engagement levels. These programs are tailored to suit each person’s unique situation, interests and goals, with additional areas of interest available upon request. Two key packages that provide information, training, and advice on using technology to improve communication and connection are:
- The Communication and Productivity Package – providing training on using technology to take notes, record conversations, write emails, text messages, and communicate with family, friends, and support workers
- Access Tailoring Package – training on individualizing your phone, smart device, computer, etc. to your ability and strengths, improving your independence and function.
The above packages include paid sessions on how to use a variety of technological devices, including Android and Apple phones, Tablets, and a variety of Assistive Technology devices in your home. These sessions provide information on accessing disability features and performing basic functions, and develop the skills and confidence to use technology for business, socializing, and in daily life.

2. Events and Workshops – Free Training
Stretchy Tech hosts a number of free events throughout the year, providing information on the products available to help individuals living with disabilities. This includes interactive displays of automated homes, demonstrations on how technology can be used to enhance cognitive abilities, and advice on the most effective new products in the market.

Pacific Vision is a NDIA registered organisation that provides a range of quality and innovative assistive technology for people with low vision and blindness, helping to find the correct technology for each individual and ensuring they know how to use these devices. Pacific Vision staff offer training and consultation in all Australian states and territories, including rural areas, with sessions offered at registered facilities or through travel. Training provided ranges from a beginner, intermediate, or advanced level, with options between online and individual or group face-to-face training.

Stepping Stones in Life is a multi-disciplinary therapy service with experiences professionals who specialise in an array of disabilities. They offer advice, information, and training on the technology available to improve the health and wellbeing of their clients. Training and consultation is mainly provided at their Millner or Humpty Doo training facilities, but staff members can travel to clients if required. Oscar’s TechHUB is a business that specialises in phone and tablet repairs, website design, and general IT solutions. Through the NDIS program, Oscar’s TechHUB has partnered with Just Right Therapy Services and LNH Physiotherapy to provide information on, access to, and training in the use of a number of assistive technology devices. Training sessions are offered on-site at their Cooma location, or their experienced staff can travel to locations throughout NSW and ACT. These sessions include training and information relating to hearing loss on the use of technological devices including:

- Landlines – Corded, Cordless, and Text Telephones.
- Assistive Technology – Hearing devices including Hearing Loop Systems, FM systems, Infrared systems and Counter Loop systems.
These consultations are completed at the individual’s home, providing comprehensive information on how to adapt the home environment to help improve the communication skills, confidence, and independence of each individual. These sessions also provide information on the devices that are available in the market for people living with hearing loss or deafness, as well as training on how to use these products.

2. Cochlear Implant Rehabilitation – Paid Training
Hearing Connections provide specialised rehabilitation session on adapting to the use of a cochlear implant processor. This includes the options of using your cochlear implant with landlines, cordless and mobile phones.
They offer experienced and professional assistance, particularly during the first year from switch on, to ensure you get the best results out of a new cochlear implant, as well as providing on-going support to ensure you are using the technology in a way that is comfortable and effective.

Indigo is a NDIA registered Disability and Aged Care support service provider, with a Technology and Communication service that offers information and advice about assistive technologies for communication, learning, recreation and work. Their experienced team members provide information on accessing the most appropriate assistive technology or communication aids, and offer community allied health services for children and adults, including assessment, training, support and therapy services. With services being offered at your home, workplace, and community, the Community Allied Health Services are conducted by allied health professionals who have extensive clinical experience and up-to-date- knowledge of assistive technologies.
These services are designed to help individuals of all disabilities and ages meet their short-term and long-term goals, with the allied health professionals providing advice on the available technologies that suit you needs, information on how to use them, and the confidence to live a safe and independent life.
These individual consultation sessions provide information and training on technological devices including:

The Tech Savvy for Seniors course is a 6- week program offered at the Riverina Community College campus, in partnership with the NSW Government and Telstra. It provides training in the digital literacy skills and information on available technology, targeted at the elderly and individuals with cognitive, speech, and physical disabilities. This course includes introductory workshops on Computes, iPad’s, the Internet, Email, and Smartphones, helping individuals to safely and confidently use technology to stay connected and communicate efficiently.
