Stepping Stones in Life is a multi-disciplinary therapy service with experiences professionals who specialise in an array of disabilities. They offer advice, information, and training on the technology available to improve the health and wellbeing of their clients. Training and consultation is mainly provided at their Millner or Humpty Doo training facilities, but staff members can travel to clients if required. They offer group or individual face-to-face training sessions, ranging from beginners to intermediate levels of training.

Available Training:

1.     Mobile Phones – Paid

Stepping Stones in Life provides paid training and consultations on the use of Android and Apple Phones for people with cognitive, vision, hearing, speech, and physical impairments. This includes information on accessing available features to support communication and the compatibility of different assistive technologies.

2.     Tablets – Paid

Stepping Stones in Life provides paid training and consultations on the use of Apple iPads, and Microsoft and Android Tablets, for people with a range of disabilities and assistive technology requirements. They help their clients to understand how these technologies can be used to help overcome impairments and improve their daily life.

3.     Landlines – Paid

Stepping Stones in Life provides paid consultations on the Corded and Cordless Landlines that are available in the market for individuals with cognitive, vision hearing, speech, and physical impairments.

4.     Assistive Technology – Paid

Stepping Stones in Life uses consultations and training sessions to inform clients about the variety of Assistive Technology devices that are available to help individuals with all disabilities. These include, but are not limited to, devices and programs such as:

• Switch controls
• GO Talk
• Dry erase boards
• VOCAs – film and video devices
• iCommunicator – message communicator speech device
• The accent
• Learning infrared
